Other facilities

Vrins Luchtonderzoek offers several other facilities which are available for fugitive dust research but also for other applications. A long windtunnel is applied for dust charactisation, testing dust samplers and wind erosion tests. An image analysis system can be used for characterisation and counting of all sorts of objects, including dust particles. With a dustiness test method, the amount of dust when dumping dry bulk material is quantified. The erodibility test method compares the potential dust emission of surfaces. The moisture profiler assesses the moisture content of piles of dry bulk materials at various depths. The meteorological station measures windspeed, wind direction and leaf wetness.
